A new leadership has emerged for the Aba Landlords Protection and Development Association (ALPADA), with Engr. Leonard Onyemesiri elected as the new President-General.
Onyemesiri, who was unanimously chosen by members during the association’s election held on November 5, 2025, succeeds Chief Alphonsus Udeigbo, who has led the body for the past ten years.
Also elected were Dr. Joseph Joshua as Deputy President-General and Brother Ume Chidi as Secretary-General.
Other members of the new executive to steer ALPADA’s affairs for the next three years include:
Chief Okey Onuorah – Vice President (Anambra State)
Comrade Benson Imo – Vice President (Abia State)
Chief Ephraim Ejiagwa – Financial Secretary
Hon. Leonard Ilodiuba – Public Relations Officer
Mrs. Iheke Nancy – Assistant Secretary
George Oguike – Assistant Public Relations Officer
Comrade Innocent Okoye – Welfare Officer
The new leadership will be formally inaugurated on December 3, 2025.
In his valedictory remarks, the outgoing President-General, Chief Udeigbo, urged the new executive to uphold justice, fairness, and equity in the discharge of their duties. He highlighted the achievements recorded under his decade-long leadership and encouraged the incoming officers to build on the foundation already laid.
Udeigbo further advised the new team to prioritise members’ welfare and strengthen collaboration with the Abia State Government and other relevant authorities to safeguard and promote the interests of ALPADA members. He also appealed to members to extend the same support they gave him to the new leadership.
Speaking on behalf of the new executive, Engr. Onyemesiri pledged to protect the core values that inspired ALPADA’s formation. He assured members of an open-door administration where every stakeholder will be carried along.
He called for unity, cooperation and understanding as the new team works to elevate ALPADA, and commended the Chief Greg Esotu–led electoral committee for conducting a peaceful and transparent election.
